One on One Massage

As noted in About Peter, his specialty is Swedish massage. He uses long, connecting strokes to warm and relax the body combined with deeper, kneading techniques to dissolve tightness and tension. Clients report that his massages reduce stress, improve circulation, relieve aching muscles and promote a feeling of well-being.

An hour-long session allows for a basic, full-body massage, plus some time for additional attention to specific areas. An hour and a half is good for tall or very muscular people; it also is ideal for much more detailed bodywork or deeper relaxation. Two hour sessions are also available, allowing for extensive stretching, side massage and more repeated strokes.

One-on-one massages are typically done draped with a sheet or towel; only the body part being worked is uncovered. Pillows are used for comfort under the ankles and knees and eyes are covered when the client is on their back to dim the light.

Peter makes notes about client requests and needs and aims to build progress each time towards a more relaxed and limber body. Regular sessions are encouraged, ideally every three weeks or even sooner, so that the body "remembers" the massage and does not slip back. Peter welcomes folks who are experiencing their first massage and discusses what to expect and how to get the most benefit from their session.
